More Music!

So… it’s been a while since I last posted.  To whoever reads this, I’m sorry for the delay.  And, my summer’s been pretty busy so far, and will get busier towards the beginning of next week.  In the meantime, I would like to take a minute to talk about some music that has been inspirational to me in the past few weeks.  Here we go!

1.Viva La Vida by Coldplay.

Viva La Vida

You’ve probably heard about it from multiple people just like I’m telling you about it now.  It’s creative and new, but it’s also a fairly simple album melody-wise.  Well-crafted.  I hadn’t listened to these guys before I heard about this album, and overall, it’s a nice album to listen to in your spare time.  Maybe you would feel more sophisticated it you drank coffee while you listened.  You should try it.

2. We Are Alive by Elevation Worship

Elevation Church is amazing.  We’ve been singing these songs for a while, and they were crafted in the hearts of three amazing guys.  Each worship leader has written songs on this album, and it’s truly a gem which shows the mission and heart of our church.  You should go check it out now.  Yes.

3. The Bird and the Bee Sides by Relient K

The Bird And The Bee Sides

I have been a Relient K fan for as long as I can remember.  (2001-ish)  And these guys never fail to put out amazing tunes.  They’re probably one of my all-time favorites in musicland.  :)   This one is chocked-full of B-Sides, never-released tracks, including some written during the band’s beginning years, and even some acoustic versions of older songs.  I haven’t finished listening to it yet, but it’s great so far.  Give it a shot!

So there you go!  Just some music to check out and listen to for the next few days.  Have fun!

Good food & great views…

I’m here at St. Kitts island in the Caribbean with my family this week.  Yesterday was great-  clear skies, a warm sun, cool breeze-  I couldn’t have asked for a better day.  I watched Terminator: 2 with my brother last night, so the day finished off with a bang.  Today, we went on a tour of the island.  It was pretty interesting.  This island was originally settled by the British a few hundred years ago, so all the cars drive on the left side of the road.

The food here has been great too.  Yesterday, I had a 12-ounce steak.  Oh, yes.  It was very juicy.  Probably one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time.  But, we haven’t had any food native to the island yet.  We’re at a resort that shows American TV shows, plays American music, and serves American food.  So, it’s been an interesting experience.  Tourism has ‘American-ized’ this tropical island.  Crazy.

;)

11:09 PM

Summer is nice.  Today I got to sleep in until 10:30, and I had absolutely nothing on my agenda today.  Somebody out there is probably jealous, but I don’t care.  :) I worked hard for 10 months, and I like 2-month summer breaks.  mmmmmmmm

Apple unveiled a new cooler-looking, cheaper, faster iPhone today.  check it out here.  It’s pretty cool.  But, I’ll probably want to buy the one they come out with next year even more.  Isn’t it funny how technology is like that?

It’s Over.

School is over.  For months.  I am no longer a Freshman, but a new Sophomore.  Yeah!

Moving on up the food chain.  I love Coldplay and Angels & Airwaves.  a lot.

:)
